Campsites
Waddow has five
fully-equipped campsites: Craggwood, North Riding, Hilltop,
Horseshoe and Wades Hill. Equipped campers have access to a
lockable solid shelter with veranda. The veranda has an
electric light and a power point and each site is equipped for 25
people. Equipped campers will also have access to up to
five tents if requested prior to arrival. It is possible to
borrow extra equipment and tents if more people are
camping. Each campsite has their own section of the wash block
with three toilets, washbasins and a shower.
We also now have a Tented Village Campsite with
ready-pitched tents, access to equipment, small hut and electric
points. Perfect for younger groups or schools.
Main Campsites are open from
late March to mid-October
Smaller Campsites are open January to
December
There is a laundry service available on site
for guests. A charge per washload will be incurred. Please provide
your own washing powder.

**NEW** Tented 'Village' on Craggside - NOW OPEN
PERFECT for groups who want to camp and want to
spend more time on activities than putting up tents!
Built on wooden platforms, our three ready-pitched canvas tents
(sleeping 6-8 persons) are now available to book. One
tent will have wheelchair ramp accessibility. The Village
will be situated on the upper part of part of Craggwood's field
with separate access for Craggwood and Craggside campers.
There is also a small hut on site which may be booked, if required.
The site has a water tap and fire area. Bring your own
equipment or hire from Waddow. Additional lightweight tents and a
dining shelter can also be hired for larger groups.
Craggwood
Secluded between a natural crag and a wooded
area, Craggwood is a short distance from the camp car park. A
hand cart is provided to assist you transporting your
equipment.
North Riding
Closest to the toilet block, North Riding is a
large, flat site. The hut is situated at the far end of this
campsite.
Hilltop
Hilltop has stunning views across towards
Waddington village and beyond.
Firth's Fell - due to open 2012
A small unequipped site with access to hut and
electricity. Ideal for smaller groups or Duke of Edinburgh
camps.
Horseshoe
With a conveniently close water tap, Horseshoe
is a flat site with the hut situated close to the gate.
Wades Hill
Set back from the other sites, Wades Hill is
the area believed to have been used by the Anglo Saxon Chief
Wadda. Wades Hill has panoramic views across the
Ribble Valley.
Dogwood - open all year
In addition to the five equipped sites we have
one large unequipped site, Dogwood, which has a water tap nearby.
Equipment can be provided for unequipped sites if enough notice is
given. Many guests book Ribble
Lodge indoor accommodation in conjunction with this
site.
Patrol Site & Bothy Site - open all year
There are also two small campsites, the Patrol
site which can be equipped and the Bothy, an unequipped campsite
with a traditional Bothy shelter.
Teepee & wigwams - open from March 2012
Waddow also has a teepee which can
be hired overnight or by the half day for activities. The teepee
will sleep up to 10 persons. It is situated in the woodland
area, close to the Main Hall and has a solid wooden structure
base. From 2012, small wigwam tents may also be hired for
this site.
Camping for disabled visitors
We strongly advise any group bringing disabled
guests to visit the site to assess the suitability. There is a wash
unit suitable for the disabled.
